I personally feel that setting a goal of spending nothing for a whole year is setting yourself up for guilt but readjusting your priorities as far as time and where your money actually goes can turn your life around and set your family up for a lifetime of good habits. We as ourselves lots of questions before purchasing things. Is it good for us? Will it last? what is it made of? what impact will this have on environment/family time/any number of other things? where will it actually go in our house? Do we already have something that serves this purpose? ( a saucepan instead of a $40 'kids' drum) and the questions go on. SOmetimes by the time we've finished talking about it we don't want it any more! but mostly we've learnt to ingrain those questions into a moments glance at something. ANd then everyone now and then when I impulse buy I don't freak out. As for delayed gratification. Tell Adrian that after waiting 2 and a bit years I'm ordering a new camera in the next few weeks! I have seen a few blogs ...This is very interesting. I have seen a few blogs around the place about ladies taking this challenge to not buy new for themselves, usually with the idea for doing it for a year. It interests me to give it a go, and challenging to think about it for kidlets too. Thanks for bringing it to my attention again :)<br />Laurenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10357037310265771808noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3528436106026850196.post-63920271847494148342013-01-21T12:12:08.633+08:002013-01-21T12:12:08.633+08:00Yes.
